A few words from the Webmaster...

Dear Lafarians...

The LAFA web site can only be as good as the input and feedback that I get from members.  Before I started work on this site, I knew next to nothing about web site creation.  It has been a slow and often tedious learning experience so far yet there is still a lot of ground to cover. This is very much a "work in progress".  With member help, I believe the end result will be something that LAFA can take pride in, and that will serve as a useful tool to organize and promote LAFA events.

I'm sure the quantity of bugs in the site exceed the number of areas that work properly, so if you notice anything that doesn't work (dead links, typos, errors, screwy formatting, etc...), please tell me!

Check your personal information in the Address Book section and let me know if there are any mistakes or omissions.  If you need the password to enter this "Member's Only" section, send me an email or give me a call. I've pass worded it in order to protect members from solicitors and spammers.  If there is any information in the members section about yourself that you don't even want the other members to see, tell me and I will remove it.

Although I would like to be present for all club events, life has a tendency of getting in the way of the really important things (like flying).  I would therefore appreciate help from members to document and photograph the events that take place.  If you have a camera (preferably a digital one), take it with you to LAFA functions then email pictures (with captions) to pilot@lafa.com. If everybody helps out, we'll be able to keep an on-line picture scrapbook of club events for posterity.

I need old newsletters... Take a look at the ones on-line.  These are the only ones I've been able to get hold of so far.  If you have any older ones, let me borrow them.  You will get your copy back after I've scanned it.

If you have any good photos of past events, send them to me and I'll add them to the ones already in the Photos & Events section. You can either email them to me, or give me prints for scanning. Prints will be returned. (Be sure to tell me what event they correspond to and include captions with names and explanations where possible).

I'm working on a Member Profile section that will include data about each member.  It will basically be a "personal web site" within LAFA's site where each member will be able to say something about their planes, about their building and flying experiences, about themselves personally, their businesses (in case other members may want to contract them), other hobbies, etc...  For this, please complete the questionnaire in the Member Profile section and send it to me together with a photo of yourself and your plane if you have one (if not, don't worry - we cab add that later).

Finally... I'm an equal opportunity offender, so if you feel I've offended anybody else more than I've offended you, let me know so that I may rectify the situation.

Happy flying!
